Best Golf Courses in Los Cabos Since the early 1990s!
Los Cabos has earned its prime position as one of the best locations in Mexico for golf. Today, three of the world’s top ranking golf courses can be found in Los Cabos, not to mention other lesser known but much loved courses.
Diamante Dunes Course
The Diamante Dunes
Was created by Davis Love II and has been a rip-roaring success! The Dunes course was ranked #1 in the world in 2010 and is currently rated as the 38th best course internationally This is really no surprise, though, when you consider the fact that this championship course covers 7,300 yards and has spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. It has been praised for its link-style layout, but more interestingly it has a 14 acre practice and development area for beginners. If you think it can’t get better than this, then consider the complimentary gourmet course-side comfort stations, resort style clubhouse, and professional caddy service. This is golf with a twist of luxury.
Cabo del Sol Ocean Course
This golf course in Los Cabos has earned the honor of being called Jack Nicklaus’ masterpiece, and it is very easy to see why. The 7,075 yard course comes complete with sweeping views of the mountain vistas, endless desert and glittering waves. This course has come in the world’s top 100, most likely due to the variations in elevation and the rolling greens which provide a challenge to both low and high handicappers. Nicklaus himself said that the Cabo del Sol was the finest example of a golf property that he had ever seen.
Palmilla Golf Course in Los Cabos
The Palmilla Golf Course is ranked number two in the city as well as one of the top 100 in the world. Also built by Jack Nicklaus, this golf course in Los Cabos consists of three different nine hole courses: the ocean course, the mountain course and the arroyo course. The ocean course is perhaps the most beautiful, boasting ocean views, but all are pleasing and provide a good challenge. In addition there are five sets of tee boxes at the courses which cater to the needs of any player.
Tom Fazio designed this golf course in Los Cabos with natural beauty and skill in mind. This 300-acre course is surrounded by ancient cacti, lush palm trees and stunning views. The course is gorgeous and demanding, but it is also a haven for those who would really like to get away from the crowds – as you progress through this course you’ll see the deep arroyo and end up on a cool plateau overlooking the ocean!
Cabo Real Golf Course
The lush fairways, stunning ocean views, massive cacti and swaying palm trees of the Cabo Real Golf Course are intensely beautiful and romantic. It would be hard to avoid falling in love with this 7,037 yard course which, if you’re lucky, will give you a front row seat to humpback whales breaching during the season! Robert Trent Jones II designed this Los Cabos’ golf course to challenge all handicappers and so it progresses in a challenging manner through the desert and eases off when the ocean comes into view. This is a once in a lifetime golfing experience that really should not be missed when you’re staying in Los Cabos.
