About Mexico

  • What documents do US and Canadian citizens need to travel to Mexico?

    US citizens need to have an original, signed passport that is valid for six months beyond their stay. Canadian citizens are also required to have a valid passport. Canadian citizens without a valid passport will not be allowed entry into Mexico and will be returned to Canada. Canadian permanent residents need to present a Resident Card, Certificate of Identity, or Refugee Travel Document.

  • What are the travel requirements for minors traveling to Mexico?

    Those under 18 years of age traveling alone or with only one parent or with someone other than the minor´s parents, must show a notarized letter of permission signed by the parent/parents not traveling. In the case of a single parent traveling with a minor, a certified copy of the divorce decree and court order showing sole custody, a certified copy of birth certificate naming one parent, a notarized copy of a death certificate, or other legal documents proving custody or guardianship are necessary.

  • Is it safe to travel to Mexico?

    Yes. Mexico is a slice of paradise that is safe and very accommodating to tourists. Los Cabos is located in the Baja California Sur region, which includes popular tourist destinations Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. For tourists staying at resorts, there are no general safety concerns and more than 3 million visitors travel to Los Cabos every year. If you are worried about safety, we just advise you to take the same precautions you would anywhere else. Don´t go out at night alone, keep your wits about you, watch your belongings, and remember alcohol and the sea don´t mix well.

  • What is the currency in Mexico?

    The monetary unit is the Mexican peso (MXN). The symbol is the same as that used for the American dollar: $. The exchange rate is very favorable for travelers with many local artisan handicrafts available for reasonable prices. US dollars are also widely accepted in Los Cabos and other parts of Mexico.

  • What is the weather like?

    Los Cabos weather is warm year-round. The best time to visit is from October to June. July is the hottest month and most of the rain hits in August and September.
